Join Biffa Waste Services as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Biffa Polymers in Redcar. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance activities to ensure equipment performance is maintained and optimized
  • Carry out fault finding and repairs in breakdown situations, using engineering drawings and machine manuals
  • Assist the MRO team in maintaining spare parts stores stock levels and records
  • Undergo training to maintain or improve competency and skill levels
  • Operate with a degree of autonomy, working within the parameters of department deliverables and health and safety legislation
Requirements:
  • Engineering qualification in electrical or mechanical maintenance
  • Good understanding of engineering and quality standards
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and on own initiative
  • Be able to fault find using electrical drawings
