**Highways Operative**

We are looking for Operatives to join our highways teams in Wiltshire.

We have immediate vacancies for highways operatives depots based in our Wilton depot.

Our Highways team keep communities moving. Join them to help construct and maintain roads in a role that’s ideal for anyone that enjoys manual outdoor work, is looking to develop their skills and be trained to help leave your mark on the communities in which we work.

**Your duties & responsibilities as a Highways Operative will be**:

- Work as part of a team undertaking highways repairs, ranging from potholes, patching, drainage, footways and general highway maintenance.
- Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.
- Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the for the day to day tasks set.
- Take responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge.
- Where appropriate provide direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.
- Undertake winter and emergency maintenance out of hours activities on a standby rota.

**We're looking for**:

- Clean driving License
- A commitment to Health and Safety
- Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy
- Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.
- LGV Class C driving licence OR demonstrate capability to support investment of LGV Class C training during probationary period.
- CSCS Card

**Desirable**:

- Highways experience
- New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) Operative Accreditation
- Lantra 12d
