We are searching for a Speech and Communication Therapist who embodies calmness, patience, and resilience. A consistent approach to supporting those we assist is essential.

We are looking for an experienced Speech and Communication Therapist with expertise in supporting individuals with dysphagia, complex communication needs, disabilities, and visual impairments. A professional qualification and registration with HCPC and RCSLT are mandatory. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments, diagnoses, and therapy for the individuals we support.
  • Offering training and guidance to the staff team to improve each person's quality of life.
  • Ensuring all documentation for the individuals we support is current, accurate, and evidence-based.
  • Collaborating with families and other professionals regarding Speech and Language Therapy requirements.
Building Relationships:
  • Providing support and information to the individuals we assist and their families.
  • Engaging professionally with colleagues and striving to establish and maintain productive relationships.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy;
  • HCPC Registration;
  • Membership of The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists;
  • Comprehensive training in the assessment and treatment of eating and swallowing difficulties (dysphagia);
  • Familiarity with RCSLT Dysphagia Training & Competency Framework, aiming for or achieving level C.

Heather House is a nursing facility catering to 16 young individuals living with severe, complex neurological disabilities and life-limiting conditions, such as CLNr (Juvenile Batten Disease).
