Geotechnical/Geo-Environmental Engineer Job Description

Leap Environmental, an RSK Group company, is seeking an experienced Geotechnical/Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their team in the South East region. This is a full-time, permanent position based in one of their offices in Hemel Hempstead, Tunbridge Wells, or Kent.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of geo-environmental and geotechnical projects, demonstrating technical, commercial, and project management capabilities. Key responsibilities include designing and managing ground investigation projects, providing technical support, and overseeing ground investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage geo-environmental and geotechnical ground investigation projects for external clients and internal teams
  • Provide technical support and control project costs
  • Oversee ground investigations, including soil and rock logging
  • Conduct geotechnical analysis and design

Requirements:

  • BEng or BSc in Civil, Geology, or Geotechnical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Desirable: further degree in Engineering Geology, Geotechnics, or Environmental Science, or equivalent
  • Registered with a suitable professional body and working towards Chartered status
  • Typically 5 years of relevant experience
  • Good understanding of geology, ground investigation works, engineering geology, and geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering
