Overview of the Role

State Street Global Delivery is expanding its workforce to enhance the planning, development, and implementation of the Enterprise initiative within the Investment Operations and Portfolio Services sector. We are seeking skilled and knowledgeable investment operations professionals to contribute significantly to the successful execution of our solutions.

The selected candidate will oversee the daily operations of the EMEA Cash Management team, which is tasked with monitoring client accounts for cash-related issues, settlements, ad-hoc processing, reporting, and conducting pre/post cycle evaluations. The team is also responsible for generating daily account review results and is expected to operate with minimal supervision.

The senior line manager must effectively lead the team to ensure compliance with governance activities according to standard operating control policies, while also addressing all market, internal, and client escalation inquiries promptly and accurately.

Additionally, the candidate will provide analytical support during the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring that all aspects of the team's operations are integrated into the onboarding framework. Participation in Business User Acceptance Testing (BUAT), Client User Acceptance Testing (CUAT), parallel testing, and other specific tasks necessary for client conversion is also expected.

Our offerings range from core custody, accounting, fund administration, and shareholder recordkeeping to comprehensive operational solutions and services for alternative assets such as OTC derivatives, private equity, and real estate. SSGD's resources empower our clients to make informed investment decisions and seize growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

As the Vice President of Cash Management Operations, your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilizing available tools to review assigned accounts for cash-related issues (e.g., overdrafts, reconciliations) and positions (e.g., trades).
  • Processing month-end close functions for assigned accounts, including validation and sign-off on balances and reviewing for non-standard balances.
  • Identifying data trends or account anomalies for discussion in team meetings.
  • Collaborating with all IMS teams (Accounting, Corporate Actions, Trading, Performance).
  • Staying informed about backup procedures for system applications and transmission issues.
  • Fostering professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve group and client objectives.
  • Providing coverage for various management functions and desk responsibilities as needed.
  • Engaging with clients and representing the Cash Management team effectively.
  • Preparing for all meetings and creating oversight reports for audits when necessary.
  • Acting as the Governance lead for offshore locations as applicable.
  • Taking ownership of issues until resolution, engaging teams as necessary to reach consensus.
  • Managing staff to achieve goals, conducting regular team meetings.
  • Tracking individual and team work efforts and objectives.

  • Establishing and monitoring control systems, delegated authority, and escalation procedures to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations.
  • Adhering to the management information and escalation framework in daily tasks, ensuring adequate production of management information and appropriate issue escalation.
  • Creating and maintaining an effective delegation framework to ensure tasks are assigned to staff with the appropriate capacity and authority.
  • Cultivating a culture of 'Risk Excellence' within the team, encouraging openness and effective challenge.
  • Making informed decisions by exercising due diligence when considering available information.
  • Fostering a culture of individual ownership among team members to enhance accountability.
  • Ensuring the highest level of the Code of Conduct is demonstrated in both personal and team behavior.

Authorisation and Escalation

The Vice President of Information Services UK may delegate functional responsibilities to Senior Associates or Associates within Information Services UK, Business Operations EMEA, to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently.

Significant matters will be escalated through the team AVP/Officer to senior management, relevant functional heads, and legal entity boards as appropriate.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree and a minimum of 10 years of operational experience in asset management.
