Job Title: Senior Regulatory Lawyer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Regulatory Lawyer to join our team at Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP. As a Senior Regulatory Lawyer, you will play a key role in advising our clients on regulatory matters related to the water industry.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in regulatory law, with a focus on the water sector. You will be responsible for providing expert advice on regulatory matters, including compliance with legislation, licenses, codes of practice, rules, guidance, and case law.

You will work closely with our clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be essential in helping our clients navigate the complex regulatory landscape of the water industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on regulatory matters related to the water industry
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, licenses, codes of practice, rules, guidance, and case law
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Manage a small team of lawyers and provide guidance on the conduct of cases
  • Identify ways to add value and improve internal efficiencies
  • Contribute to the management of the wider MLS team and MLS operations
Requirements
  • Qualified solicitor with at least 8 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) of working within a regulated sector
  • Experience of working in an in-house environment and of working with all levels of seniority within a business
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the legislation, licenses, codes of practice, rules, guidance, and case law that governs the operational running of a regulated utility company
  • Capable of working independently and managing a small and busy team
  • Organised and good at managing time effectively, using appropriate systems and processes
  • Good relationship builder with strong interpersonal skills and highly team-oriented
