Position Overview

Are you a seasoned and innovative leader eager to influence healthcare delivery? We are in search of a remarkable Assistant General Manager to become part of our NHS Trust. This role is pivotal in ensuring exceptional performance, quality, and safety across the services you manage within the Collaborative framework. You will collaborate closely with the General Manager, Lead Nurse, and Collaborative Chair to enhance healthcare outcomes.

In this capacity, you will assume both operational and strategic leadership responsibilities, guiding the development and execution of service strategies and objectives for a designated group of services within the Collaborative. Your role will involve meeting operational performance targets, improving service quality, and maintaining financial stability.

You will oversee the planning and coordination of various complex activities and associated services, collaborating with other departments to achieve success. This position requires effective leadership and management within teams, ensuring that services uphold the highest standards and performance metrics. You will report directly to the General Manager and actively contribute to achieving objectives aligned with both corporate and Collaborative goals.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Hold overall accountability for the efficient operational management of Urology & Vascular services across multiple locations within the Collaborative. Ensure the achievement of targets and performance indicators in accordance with national constitutional standards. Lead the advancement of clinical and support services. Serve as the primary manager for a significant area of operations, interpreting corporate and national policies. Actively assist the General Manager in the formulation and implementation of service strategies and objectives. Support the attainment of objectives within both the corporate and Collaborative frameworks. Manage various budgets and resources effectively while ensuring a high standard of patient care. Participate in any on-call arrangements or shift systems associated with this role outside of standard working hours to meet service delivery requirements. Be prepared to work across multiple sites as necessary.
