Court Thorn Surgery is a forward-thinking primary care provider seeking a skilled and dedicated Salaried General Practitioner to join our team. Our practice operates a doctor-first triage system, ensuring efficient and patient-centred care.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing a full range of medical services, including:
- Undertaking a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, and dealing with correspondence in a timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation
- Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, including providing health education
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to a high standard
- Complete referrals where appropriate, including for any suggested diagnostic testing and report on results to patients as required
- Prescribe in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary
To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to possess:
- MBChB qualification
- MRCGP qualification
- General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
- Full GMC Registration
- The right to work in the UK and be on the NHS Performer's List
- A willingness to supervise and mentor other clinical staff in-person
- Evidence of continuous professional development
While not essential, the following qualifications and experience would be desirable:
- Experience of working in Primary Care
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written & oral)
- Clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of a GP
- Strong IT skills
- Effective time management (planning and organisation)
- Problem solving
- Experience with audits
- Ability to follow clinical guidelines, policies and procedures
- Experience with clinical risk management
The ideal candidate will also possess:
- A positive attitude; self-motivated and able to motivate others
- A willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
Court Thorn Surgery operates a doctor-first triage system, ensuring efficient and patient-centred care. Our clinical team includes a Clinical pharmacist, one part-time GPA, one full-time Practice nurse, a Nurse associate, a trainee Nurse associate, and two healthcare assistants. We are proud to be a training practice, committed to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals. We actively involve ourselves in research and teaching, offering opportunities for professional growth and development. We provide protected staff learning time and an employee assistance program to support your well-being. We have an award-winning Patient Participation Group and were awarded Outstanding by the CQC when last inspected. We are active within our PCN, including having access to Social Prescribers. We are a Dispensing Practice with the majority of our patients dispensed to. Due to our patient demographic, we are a low-visiting Practice.
