Project Manager

As a key member of the Construction team at Gatwick Airport, you will play a pivotal role in leading the design delivery and technical assurance of large, strategically important projects. Your expertise in electrical engineering and systems will ensure that design meets project requirements, while achieving real value for money.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop project scope to meet business needs and deliver effective design management on individual projects.
- Develop design briefs for external design consultants and ensure that design contracts are implemented and effectively managed through the design process.
- Guide design solutions promoting best practices and innovative techniques, technologies, and processes. Drive consistency and identify opportunities for efficiencies within project delivery.
- Work with multiple stakeholders to support the successful delivery of projects.
- Seek cost-effective design solutions and manage external design consultants.
- Provide technical input to any design changes through the lifecycle of the project.
- Undertake the role of Principal Designer Contact to discharge the duties of Principal Designer (CDM Regulations 2015) with the support of CDM Advisor.
- University degree in electrical engineering or construction-related discipline – or significant experience instead of education/qualifications.
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of technical and regulatory requirements related to electrical engineering within an airfield environment.
- Knowledge of airfield ground lighting (AGL) airfield systems and associated airfield electrical infrastructure.
- Knowledge of and experience in aerodrome design standards is desirable.
- A basic understanding of Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) is desirable.
- Experience in coordinating design teams and multi-discipline engineering resources with a particular focus on electrical engineering.
