About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our Commercial Programme team at Gatwick Airport. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in leading the design of large, strategically important projects, ensuring that design meets project requirements while achieving real value for money.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop project scope to meet business needs and deliver effective design management on individual projects.
  • Develop design briefs for external design consultants and ensure effective implementation and management through the design process.
  • Seek sustainable design solutions to meet project requirements, ensuring implementation of measures aimed at preventing, reducing, and remediating carbon emissions.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to support the successful delivery of projects.
  • Seek cost-effective design solutions and manage external design consultants.
  • Provide technical input to design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Undertake the role of Principal Designer Contact to discharge duties under CDM Regulations 2015 with support from CDM Advisor.
Requirements
  • University degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services engineering discipline, or significant experience in lieu of education/qualifications.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of technical and regulatory requirements related to electrical engineering.
  • Knowledge and experience in designing electrical, mechanical, and other building service systems, and MEP standards is desirable.
  • Experience in coordinating design teams and multi-discipline engineering resources with a focus on Building Services.
