Position Overview:

We are seeking a NI Installation Manager to join our dynamic team in the South. The selected candidate will oversee the installation of all new equipment within their designated geographic area, ensuring that installation targets are met effectively. This role involves providing comprehensive supervisory support to installation engineers while adhering to agreed-upon targets, including field efficiency, quality assurance, customer satisfaction, and health & safety. The primary objective is to deliver completed projects to clients while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, monitor, and coordinate all project phases: pre-start checks, installation, and commissioning.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers on each project.
  • Oversee new installation operations and provide feedback to the Fulfilment Director/Project Manager regarding any issues.
  • Ensure all site personnel are adequately trained and informed about procedures, particularly regarding installation methods and safety protocols.
  • Create a safe working environment for all individuals interacting with our operations and equipment.
  • Manage on-site activities, including deliveries, inductions, commissioning, and site safety systems.
  • Conduct pre-installation reviews and lift shaft inspections to ensure readiness for installation.
  • Identify site-related challenges and collaborate with the Project Team to address them effectively.
  • Monitor hours worked and assess performance metrics.
  • Assist in evaluating monthly accounts based on percentage completion.
  • Conduct in-process quality and safety assessments.
  • Participate in relevant meetings as necessary.
  • Foster the development of workforce skills and capabilities.
  • Maintain updated records in the Shape FO: Supervisor App.
  • All employees must adhere to established Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to comply with current legal requirements and Schindler Group safety standards.

Candidate Profile:

  • A minimum of 5 years of site experience in major repairs, modernization, or installation within the lift or equivalent industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of design and construction processes.
  • Background in management/supervision, commercial, technical, and installation, with the ability to translate specifications and construction challenges into practical solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge and technical expertise in lifts and escalators, along with operational methods.
  • Prior experience in managing field personnel.
  • Possession of a UK Driving License and CSCS card.
  • Certification in Safety (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme & Construction Safety Competence Scheme).
  • Ability to identify beneficial solutions.
  • Strong planning and leadership capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels, including customer representatives, internal stakeholders, and on-site staff.
  • Flexibility in work hours and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Certified project management or an equivalent qualification.
