Theatre Practitioner Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Theatre Practitioner to join our team at Resourcing Group. As a key member of our Theatre Department, you will be responsible for delivering safe and high-quality care to patients during their perioperative phase of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and effective care to patients during their perioperative phase of care, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Support and assist in the management and organisation of care provision within the Operating Department, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- Lead and manage a team of Theatre Practitioners, coordinating staff training needs and resource requirements within a peri-operative function or surgical specialty.
- Assist in the delivery of patient care, contribute to quality improvement, and promote best evidence-based practices within your scope.
- Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and yourself, ensuring continuous professional development.
- Apply legislation, policies, and procedures correctly, maintaining knowledge of Health and Safety regulations to ensure the safety of patients, relatives, visitors, staff, and contractors.
- Assemble, check, and prepare the appropriate surgical equipment, instruments, and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures.
Requirements:
- Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in coordination, ordering, first assistant duties, mentoring, and leadership within a perioperative setting.
- First surgical assistant certificate.
- Additional skills in recovery and anaesthetics.
- ILS certification.
- Mentorship qualification.
- Proficient in the use of a PC, including software and systems.
- Experience in customer care, including interacting with customers in challenging situations.
- Experience as a Scrub Nurse with expertise in ENT, Orthopaedic, General Surgery, and Neuro is preferred.
- Maths and English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
