Senior Systems Engineer (Avionics)

Location: Hybrid

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to play a pivotal role in the Avionics Joint Team (AJT), overseeing the design and qualification of modifications to Avionic systems.

This position offers the opportunity to develop extensive knowledge in Typhoon Avionics, engaging with various stakeholders throughout the system's lifecycle. The AJT is responsible for orchestrating efforts across all subsystems, facilitating significant enhancements for both domestic and international clients. This role presents a distinctive opportunity to work collaboratively within the Eurofighter consortium, engaging with external partners and customer communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formulation of Avionics qualification strategies and testing criteria.
  • Evaluate test results to ensure adherence to qualification standards, providing guidance on discrepancies and potential limitations of the platform.
  • Collaborate with the Safety team to establish essential testing for Safety Critical Function Chains.
  • Oversee and resolve software-related challenges.
  • Deliver prompt responses to urgent customer inquiries regarding in-service issues.
  • Support the design qualification of Typhoon Avionics, closely collaborating with the Avionics Safety team.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience with Mission Systems, ideally within the aerospace or military sectors.
  • Understanding of functional testing methodologies at both system and subsystem levels.
  • Familiarity with equipment interface specifications.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities concurrently while adhering to established standards and maintaining configuration control.
  • Knowledge of the Typhoon platform.
  • Experience in trial data analysis, trial management, and design tools/methodologies (e.g., Statemate, Artisan, Rhapsody, UML, DOORS).

Compensation Package:

  • Base salary of £40,000 - £50,000
