About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Psychiatrist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in developing and delivering high-quality mental health services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the management of inpatients, overseeing care and treatment plans, and delegating responsibilities to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop and implement service improvements, working closely with the management team to drive positive change and achieve our goals.
  • Contribute to the development of new inpatient services and the interface with community teams, ensuring seamless care pathways for our patients.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, using your expertise to drive excellence in patient care and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver training programs, ensuring that our staff have the skills and knowledge they need to provide high-quality care.
Requirements
  • Be medically qualified, with a strong background in psychiatry and a proven track record of clinical leadership.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Be innovative and imaginative, with a passion for service improvement and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Have a strong understanding of current developments in psychiatry and mental health, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
