About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Deputy Lead to join our Perioperative Care team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as deputy to the Team Lead - Perioperative Care, taking charge of the clinical area and ensuring the standards and quality of care are maintained at a high standard.
  • Provide direct clinical care and use your experience to support the implementation of clinical and non-clinical governance.
  • Support the development of our clinical services, including the intraoperative care of patients during surgery.
  • Work collaboratively with our Theatre Education team to support the professional development of our staff.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (Part 1) / Operating Department Practitioner qualification.
  • Pertinent postgraduate qualification and a willingness to undertake appropriate postgraduate-level study when in post.
  • Experience of supervision of junior staff, mentoring pre-registration nursing/midwifery/ODP students, and demonstrating sound knowledge of the NMC Code & HPC equivalent.
