About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our Occupational Health team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting positive mental health in the workplace and advising managers on mental ill-health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Raise awareness of mental health issues in the workplace through education and training.
  • Update our library of self-help literature and online resources to support employees.
  • Refer employees to our multidisciplinary team and external agencies as needed.
  • Provide short-term interventions to support employees experiencing mental health issues.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on mental health issues in the workplace.
  • Advise managers on mental health issues and provide guidance on managing individual cases.
  • Work proactively with departments experiencing high levels of sickness absence due to mental health issues.

Requirements
  • NMC or HCPC qualified practitioner with experience in acute mental health services.
  • Counselling skills and experience.
  • Desirable qualifications include CBT and EMDR.
  • Significant post-registration experience in varied settings.
  • Ability to identify and assess needs of service users in relation to mental health and work.
  • Effective workload management skills.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Desirable experience includes evidence-based practice, community experience, short-term therapeutic interventions, and drug and alcohol knowledge.
