About the Role

We are currently seeking a Finance Analyst with outstanding Business Partnering capabilities to enhance our Commercial Technology Finance Team. This role involves supporting the management and strategic planning of software and hardware initiatives within Ocado Technology, focusing on delivering insightful analysis and reporting. The position comprises 30% reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, and 70% Business Partnering, investment evaluation, and ad hoc analysis.
You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across various functions, providing you with opportunities to advance your career within Ocado. Reporting directly to the Technology Finance Business Partner, you will be part of a six-member team within a larger Group Finance division, while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis to develop and maintain cost models aligned with operational and business metrics.
  • Own and refine the forecasting model for cloud-related expenses.
  • Assist Ocado Technology in comprehending the primary drivers of cloud costs across different formats.
  • Oversee the planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, identifying risks and opportunities in your areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare and present management information, insights, and ad hoc analyses to support performance monitoring, cost management, and decision-making, ensuring timeliness and relevance.
  • Review capital expenditure approval requests, ensuring adherence to proper processes and preparing relevant models to guide decisions.
  • Identify and propose enhancements to business processes and financial controls to improve efficiency and ensure accurate cost recording.
  • Communicate management information effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders within Ocado Technology and Finance.
  • Ensure compliance with financial standards and controls within the business areas.

About You

  • Qualified CIMA / ACA / ACCA accountant or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in reporting, period management, analysis, and commentary.
  • Strong background in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated experience in business partnering within a matrix organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Oracle is a plus.
  • Collaborative mindset with a genuine passion for value addition and continuous improvement.
