About Us

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Finance Analyst with outstanding Business Partnering capabilities to support our Commercial Technology Finance Team. This role involves managing and strategically planning the software and hardware streams within Ocado Technology, providing valuable analysis and reporting. The position comprises 30% reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, and 70% Business Partnering, investment appraisal, and ad hoc analysis.
You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across various functions, enhancing your professional exposure and career development within Ocado. Reporting directly to the Technology Finance Business Partner, you will be part of a team of six while being integrated into a larger Group Finance division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain cost models aligned with operational and business metrics.
  • Own and enhance the forecast model for cloud expenditures.
  • Assist Ocado Technology in comprehending the primary drivers of cloud costs across all service formats.
  • Oversee the planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, identifying risks and opportunities within your areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare and present management information, insights, and ad hoc analyses to support performance tracking, cost control, and decision-making.
  • Review capital expenditure approval requests, ensuring compliance with processes and preparing relevant models to inform decisions.
  • Identify and propose improvements to business processes and financial controls to enhance efficiency and ensure accurate cost recording.
  • Communicate management information effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders across Ocado Technology and Finance.
  • Ensure adherence to financial standards, compliance processes, and controls within business areas.

About You

  • Qualified CIMA / ACA / ACCA accountant or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in reporting, period management, analysis, and commentary.
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Strong business partnering experience within a matrix structure.
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential; familiarity with Oracle is a plus.
  • Collaborative mindset with a genuine passion for value addition and continuous improvement.
