About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our dynamic and multi-disciplinary team at Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. As a Community Practitioner for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, you will play a vital role in providing assessment and treatment to children and young people who present with mental health issues.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and treatment to children and young people with mental health issues, with a focus on formulation and psychologically informed brief interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with children and young people, as well as their carers and families, to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality care and engage in quality improvement activities to enhance the service.
  • Participate in regular management and clinical supervision to ensure the highest standards of practice.
Requirements
  • Current professional registration with an approved body.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the post.
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy, and IT (Q level 2 or equivalent).
  • Experience of working with children, young people, and families.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Working with children and young people with mental ill-health issues.
  • Working collaboratively with service users and their family/carers.
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Working in partnership with other agencies.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding and its application in practice.
  • Awareness of risk assessment and its application in practice.
  • Awareness of psychological models of care and treatment.
  • Clinical governance and supervision of other team members.

  • Demonstrates an approach that aligns with trust values.
  • Self-aware of personal professional development needs.
Other Requirements
  • Ability to travel independently in accordance with Trust policies and service need.
