We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist to join our team at Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in children's mental health services and/or eating disorder services, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality clinical care.

Job Summary

The Clinical Specialist will play a key role in the delivery of clinical services to children and young people with eating disorders, working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment, and management. The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, supervision, and training to colleagues, as well as contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessment and evidence-based interventions to children and young people with eating disorders
  • Lead and contribute to clinical decision-making, working collaboratively with other clinicians
  • Supervise and train colleagues, providing clinical guidance and support
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
  • Act as a resource for specialist advice, training, and consultation to the team and partner agencies
Requirements
  • Postgraduate diploma (or above) in a subject relevant to the area of practice
  • Experience of assessing and managing risk (harm to self, others, and safeguarding)
  • Experience of working in a community setting
  • Clinical supervisory experience and willingness to provide clinical supervision
  • Ability to make balanced decisions and use positive risk-taking approaches
Desirable Qualifications
  • Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent
  • Experience of working with patients who display high-risk behaviours
  • Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy/NMP, etc.
