Senior Policy Adviser

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Senior Policy Adviser to join our team at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). As a key member of our policy team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the CBI's policy positions and influencing government policies to promote sustainable economic growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop rigorous, evidence-based arguments and policy recommendations that respond to the needs of CBI members and help businesses innovate.
  • Work with CBI members to develop policy positions, managing competing business and commercial interests to produce messages with broad support.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform policy decisions, using project management skills to track progress, manage risk, and measure success.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with external contacts, including government officials, members of parliament, and business stakeholders.
  • Represent the CBI at meetings and events to influence policy, preparing and delivering presentations as needed.
Requirements:
  • Experience of working in a policy or related role.
  • Demonstrable interest in politics and public policy.
  • Familiarity with the workings of business and commercial pressures.
