About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Podiatrist to join our Community Podiatry Service at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our integrated team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with complex needs in a variety of settings, including clinics, hospitals, and patients' homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and develop individual treatment plans for patients with a wide range of clinical needs, including high-risk patients, diabetes, neuropathy, and chronic disease.
  • Provide high-quality clinical care in accordance with NICE Guidance, including nail surgery, orthotics, wound management, and foot health education.
  • Work closely with our community nursing teams to provide comprehensive care to patients with complex needs.
  • Referral of patients who require the intervention of other professionals and specialist areas, following agreed departmental referral pathways.
  • Annual diabetic foot reviews in accordance with NICE guidance, including vascular assessment using Doppler ultrasound.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Degree in Podiatry or equivalent.
  • HCPC Registration as a Podiatrist.
  • Local anaesthetic certificate.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate Certificates.
  • Experience of working in a community setting, including patients' places of residence.
