The below job description outlines the position of Marine Engineer.

We are looking for a Marine Engineer for one of our maritime clients. Typically, this person will be working within a heavy engineering industry and will include working on different marine vessels.

Our client is a very established and well-regarded business entity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Confident in working on marine engines & propulsion systems.
  2. Experience working on a wide variety of vessels from 400 tons to ribs.
  3. All work must be to the highest standards.
  4. Able to test and commission installations, ensuring equipment is operational and satisfactory to all requirements.
  5. To install mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  6. Able to read and understand technical drawings.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  1. Must have a minimum of NVQ level 3 within the boatbuilding industry or similar.
  2. Ensuring H&S compliance.
  3. Effectively manage overtime and ensure standards are met in line with regular working hours.
  4. Must be able to pass MOD Security clearance checks.
  5. Able to write technical reports.
  6. Must have a full driving licence.
  7. Knowledge of electrical installations would be an advantage.
