Marine Engineering Trainer

We are working in partnership with a leading International Defence business to recruit a Marine Engineering Mechanical Trainer on a permanent basis.
About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing theoretical and practical technical training on Mechanical engineering techniques, complex systems routines, maintenance, diagnostics and repair techniques to the equipment and systems of RN warships and other Navies vessels.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver training within the Engine Workshop, covering topics such as Engineering Safety, Diesel Engines, Gas Turbines, Transmissions, Fuel Systems, Auxiliaries, Refrigeration and Hydraulics, Vent and Freshwater Production, and hand tools & craft skills.
- Assess trainee course work and provide feedback on performance.
- Be responsible for the duty of care of trainees during the delivery of training.
- Carry out level 0 and level 1 training equipment maintenance for which suitable qualifications and experience are held.
The ideal candidate will have consolidated experience (within the last 5 years) or directly employed in Marine Mechanical, with skills of hand techniques & engineering principles in the maritime environment. Previous instructional experience and sufficient knowledge to teach / design ME (LET/POET) Mechanical engineering techniques, complex systems routines, maintenance, diagnostics and repair techniques are also essential.
