Overview of the Role

We are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and proactive individuals who are passionate about rehabilitation and recovery to become part of our interdisciplinary team at Thames House.

Thames House is a secure facility with 26 beds dedicated to women diagnosed with mental health issues and/or personality disorders. A significant number of our clients have previously interacted with the criminal justice system. The unit is divided into a 10-bed high dependency area and a 16-bed lower dependency section.

Our team has developed effective strategies to assist patients in identifying and achieving their personal goals while ensuring their safety and supporting their transition back into the community.

We require excellent communication abilities and a flexible, positive mindset. Our approach is rooted in care, inclusivity, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality support. While experience in a secure environment is beneficial, it is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

As part of our innovative and committed multi-disciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with nursing, medical, psychological, and occupational therapy professionals.

We expect you to be dynamic and dedicated, actively participating in and supporting the recovery process while upholding high standards of patient care in a secure and nurturing environment.

This position includes an additional RSU Lead payment of £1,446 per year on top of your base salary.

Detailed Job Responsibilities

You will be involved in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care and treatment for individuals facing mental health challenges.

Completion of PEACE Teamwork training and other relevant training is mandatory.

You will work on a rotating shift schedule to cover our 24/7 service, which includes a mix of early and late shifts, with one night shift every four weeks.

Additional Information

All new hires will undergo a 6-month probationary period, complemented by an induction process designed to foster a supportive working environment that allows new employees to grasp essential aspects of their role over a reasonable timeframe.

Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 positions will be required to complete numeracy and literacy assessments.
