Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Sandgate Road Surgery. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct new patient health checks and assessments

• Assist with ECG recordings, phlebotomy, and blood pressure monitoring

• Process and manage laboratory samples requested by GPs and nurses

• Maintain and sterilize surgical equipment, and manage vaccine storage and stock rotation

• Assist with minor operations and provide support during patient care interventions

• Contribute to the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and well-being

• Assist with data collection and collation on patient needs related to health and well-being

Person Specification

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths

Desirable

• Care Certificate and KaSPaC or NVQ equivalent

Skills and Knowledge

• Experience in directly providing healthcare to patients

• Proven track record of working as part of a team

• Clear and concise communication skills

Desirable

• Experience working as a HCA in general practice

• Phlebotomy experience

• Experience of administering vaccinations

• Knowledge of wound dressing
