We are seeking a National Collections Registrar - Technical Lead to become an integral part of our team.
This role presents an exceptional opportunity to guide a team as the technical authority for collections due diligence.
The Collections Management and Care team collaborates closely with colleagues across various regions and countries to deliver professional and efficient loan management services.
They are responsible for establishing collections management and care policies and standards, offering services, and providing expert advice, guidance, and training. Their duties include managing and/or supporting loans, acquisitions, disposals, collections reviews, central transport services, insurance/GIS, and investigating legal ownership.
Work Environment

Your primary location will be our head office, with an expectation of office attendance. However, there is flexibility regarding your base location at other times. You will be required to work at various locations for 40-60% of your working week, with details to be discussed during the interview process.
This role may also necessitate travel to meet with stakeholders and conduct work at properties or regional hubs.
Key Responsibilities
As the technical lead, you will assist the Senior National Collections Manager in developing and enhancing the Trust's approach to managing and researching legal ownership and provenance.
Your responsibilities will include planning, supervising, and reporting on collections management projects, as well as assisting in the investigation of ownership queries.
You will oversee the work of other Registrars and project staff, who may be part of your team or stationed at various properties. Additionally, you will manage business procedures for your specialist area and lead training and professional development initiatives to empower our staff in conducting due diligence with confidence and effective risk management.
Candidate Profile

- Extensive experience and knowledge in collections management and the legal and ethical frameworks that govern it.
- Strong expertise in due diligence research.
- Experience with museum-standard exhibition loans and practices.
- Proficiency in utilizing data management systems for analysis, management, and reporting.
- Experience in scoping and managing projects, including budgets and reporting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, SharePoint, Planner).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Preferable experience in line management or volunteer supervision.
