About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to lead our collections management standards, integrating our audience-led approach into policy and practice. As the Collections Management Standards Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing our current practice, identifying opportunities to innovate and evolve our approach, and developing and communicating effectively to a range of audiences.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement collections management standards and policies that align with our audience-led approach.
- Lead the review of our current collections management practice, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Develop and deliver training programs for staff and volunteers on collections management best practices.
- Provide expert collections management advice on complex issues and major work programs.
- Collaborate with national specialists and colleagues across the organization to drive innovation and ensure effective internal communication of our strategy, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrable experience of collections management in a cultural or heritage setting.
- Strong knowledge of current standards and best practice in collections management and information.
- Understanding of how to balance collections needs with visitor access.
- Experience of developing training programs for staff and volunteers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and influence across various levels of the organization.
- Innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proven program or project management experience involving planning and coordinating work with input across multiple teams.
