The Role:

Clarion Events stands as a premier event organizer, based in London, operating across diverse sectors such as Retail, Defence & Security, Digital Marketing, Energy, and Technology.

As we embark on an exciting journey of transformation, we are implementing a fresh strategy to leverage data and technology throughout the organization, aimed at enhancing customer experiences. To bolster our team, we seek a seasoned Software Engineering Manager who will report to the Head of Enterprise Applications, overseeing the execution of multiple projects and product development efforts.

Key Duties:

  • Lead both internal and external delivery teams to fulfill prioritized roadmaps and ensure project completion within budget constraints.
  • Act as a technology representative in roadmap discussions, balancing technological efficiency with addressing technical debt.
  • Collaborate with teams and architects to create innovative technological solutions, managing the comprehensive delivery of projects, product upgrades, and technological modifications.
  • Provide effective leadership to direct reports, contract personnel, and partners, serving as an independent escalation point.
  • Inspire and guide delivery teams through matrix management, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
  • Serve as a strategic technology liaison for engineering, engaging in architecture discussions and advocating for technical standards.
  • Exhibit a commitment to continuous improvement in planning, forecasting, estimating, managing uncertainties, metrics, contingency planning, and technology road mapping.
  • Ensure the adoption of security practices and standards in development processes, scheduling regular security assessments, and minimizing downtime for end users during production releases.
  • Conduct regular evaluations across all digital products and platforms, identifying key trends, ensuring KPIs are achieved, and collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize critical business initiatives.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:

  • Experience: Extensive experience in a comparable role with demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Software Development Lifecycle: Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle with technical expertise in various CRM, ERP, and integration technologies.
  • Cloud Deployment: Proven experience in cloud deployment, preferably with Azure.
  • Project Management: Robust project management skills with familiarity in waterfall, agile, and hybrid methodologies.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams towards successful task completion.
  • Technical Architecture: Solid understanding of technical architecture and the ability to navigate complex technical environments.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: A strong desire to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve shared objectives, actively seeking and sharing insights from others.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across both technical and non-technical teams.
