About the Role

This is a senior position within our team, supporting the Energy & Emissions Manager in the provision of energy transition services to our business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Energy & Emissions Manager in the development and delivery of climate change and energy transition commitments, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and targets.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including partners, regulatory bodies, and industry associations, to influence and collaborate on energy transition risks and opportunities.
  • Provide input and advice on asset lifecycle energy transition requirements, considering regulatory requirements and company commitments to drive performance improvement.
  • Coordinate and determine greenhouse gas emissions forecasts to inform the net zero strategy, develop opportunity scenario analysis, and contribute to company and asset annual scorecards.
  • Offer briefings and advice to management on emerging risks and opportunities in the energy transition sector, as well as interpretation of environmental legislation and industry guidance.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree-qualified environmental science or engineering professional with extensive industry experience and a proven track record of delivery.
  • Member of a professional body, with ongoing CPD and working towards Chartered status.
  • Experience working in a team with oil and gas operating assets, wells, and project developments in an environmentally related role.
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across the business and HSES team.
  • Self-starter with a flexible approach to work requirements and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
Desirable Skills
  • Proficient level of experience in greenhouse gas forecasting, management, and accounting.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of global sustainability standards and frameworks, environmental legislation, and management systems.
  • Full asset lifecycle operations experience, including exploration, production, late-life, and decommissioning.
  • Stakeholder engagement and company information management skills.
