Position Overview: A visually impaired and diabetic individual with mobility challenges is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant to provide support with daily activities. This role is ideal for a job share arrangement with another Personal Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with morning routines, including personal care and breakfast preparation.
  • Support with school drop-offs and pick-ups for the youngest child.
  • Engage in various household tasks such as batch cooking, cleaning, and light gardening.
  • Accompany the individual to appointments and activities.
  • Provide weekend support for quality time with the youngest son, including play and outings.

Location: Norwich, NR5

Essential Duties:

  • Personal care assistance, particularly with foot care and hair washing.
  • Medication management, including assistance with packaging.
  • Meal preparation focused on a healthy diet.
  • Support with school transportation and attending appointments.
  • General household cleaning and maintenance.
  • Assistance with pet care, including vet visits.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • Empathetic and gentle demeanor.
  • Professional approach to caregiving.
  • Patience and a calm attitude.
  • Friendly personality with a good sense of humor.
  • Valid UK driving license and personal vehicle with appropriate insurance.
  • Experience caring for young children.

Desirable:

  • Female carer preferred for personal care tasks.
  • Experience supporting individuals with visual impairments.
  • Familiarity with caring for individuals with Fibromyalgia.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly rate: £12.
  • Work schedule: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with specific hours to be mutually agreed upon.
  • Annual holiday entitlement equivalent to 5.6 consecutive weeks of work.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Successful completion of an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, funded by the employer.
  • References from two referees, including one from the most recent employer.
  • Completion of a 6-month probationary period.
