FP&A Director - Hedge Fund Opportunity

We are collaborating with a distinguished Hedge Fund to find a highly analytical and system transformation savvy candidate to fill an FP&A Director role.

The FP&A Director will oversee and communicate the financial and investment performance of the firm, working across the entire business and collaborating regularly with teams in Portfolio Management, Risk, Trading, Accounting, and Investor Relations. This pivotal role is both commercial and strategic, reporting directly to and partnering with the global CFO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing financial trends and key performance indicators (KPIs) using data visualization tools such as Power BI and self-built models, with regular presentations to the senior leadership team.
  • Developing financial models for scenario analysis, producing management reports to support decision-making, and providing guidance on cash management and hedging policies.
  • Assisting in the year-end compensation process, leading the coaching and mentoring of junior finance team members, and having the autonomy to streamline and automate various business-as-usual (BAU) processes.

This role will work closely with the CFO and other senior stakeholders in the business to understand existing workflows, including tax, audit, daily operations, and cash management, and will play a crucial role in building out the FP&A function.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in finance (post qualified experience)
  • Qualified accountant (ACA) with a strong academic background
  • Broad knowledge across various finance functions
  • Experience in the buy-side sector is a must, and familiarity with systems such as Workday and complex compensation models are preferred but not essential

This role would offer a substantial increase in the current base salary, accompanied by a bonus that can constitute a significant percentage of the base. The comprehensive benefits package includes a substantial pension and generous coverage for health, life, and travel.
