Job Title: Quarry and Recycling Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Quarry and Recycling Supervisor to join our team at Tarmac. As a Quarry and Recycling Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of our quarry and recycling site, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations, and driving operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs).

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the contract crush and earth works contractors
  • Support the delivery of toolbox talks
  • Ensure the permitted recycling area is operating compliantly in-line with its environmental permit/waste management license
  • Work to drive operational performance through KPIs
  • Timely resolution of queries assigned to the sector
  • Take responsibility for your own safety and that of colleagues and business partners
  • Ensure housekeeping is kept to a high standard

Requirements:
  • Experience in Quarry operations
  • Experience in environmental, sustainability and recycling programmes
  • Previous experience of a Sand and Gravel Quarry environment
  • Previous experience of a recycling environment
  • Working knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems
  • Working knowledge of H&S and Environmental policies
Desirable Qualifications:
  • A role associated qualification in Environmental or Sustainability
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations
  • WAMITAB or equivalent qualification
