Job Title: Quarry and Recycling Manager

We are seeking an experienced Quarry and Recycling Manager to lead our team at Lockington Quarry, located in Derbyshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the environmental, safety, and operational standards of the quarry and recycling area, with a focus on cost control, contractor management, and performance improvement.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage site compliance with business policies and procedures
  • Ensure legislative compliance
  • Lead and manage contract crush and earth works contractors
  • Deliver toolbox talks
  • Manage daily environmental, sustainability, and operational requirements
  • Ensure permitted recycling area operates compliantly
  • Drive operational performance through KPIs
  • Resolve queries assigned to the sector
  • Take responsibility for safety and that of colleagues and business partners
  • Maintain site housekeeping
  • Manage budget for plant operations

Requirements:
  • Experience in Quarry operations
  • Experience in environmental, sustainability, and recycling programs
  • Previous experience in Sand and Gravel Quarry environment
  • Previous experience in recycling environment
  • Full knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems
  • Working knowledge of H&S and Environmental policies
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Role-associated Degree in Environmental or Sustainability
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations
  • WAMITAB or equivalent qualification
