Job Description:

Duncan Lewis Solicitors is a leading law firm that provides high-quality legal services to individuals and businesses across the UK. We are seeking an experienced Crime Duty Solicitor to join our Crime Department.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Report directly to the Department Director and be responsible for all aspects of Crime work.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members as needed.
  • Manage a caseload of complex and sensitive cases, including bail applications, serious fraud, white-collar crime, murder, drug crime, and theft.
  • Represent clients detained at the police station, conduct advocacy in the Magistrates Court, and attend to clients both in and outside of office hours.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve client care and business development.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Duty and Police Station Accreditation.
  • Higher rights of advocacy qualification is an advantage.
  • A clean, valid Practising Certificate at the time of applying.
  • Proven supervisory experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent client care skills, analytical and organizational skills, and ability to use own initiative and sound judgment.
  • Working knowledge of the publicly funded Crime work and ability to service privately funded cases.
  • Extensive experience in handling a Criminal Defence caseload.
  • Excellent IT Skills, familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills.
