Job Title: Crime Duty Solicitor

Duncan Lewis Solicitors, a leading law firm in the UK, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crime Duty Solicitor to join our team. As a Crime Duty Solicitor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality legal representation to clients in the criminal justice system.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in police stations, courts, and tribunals
  • Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates Court and Crown Court
  • Prepare and present cases, including bail applications and sentencing hearings
  • Manage complex and sensitive cases, including serious fraud, white-collar crime, and murder
  • Collaborate with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and other stakeholders to ensure effective case management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners
Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor with a strong background in criminal law
  • Experience in police station representation and advocacy in the Magistrates Court and Crown Court
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and document management systems
