Job Title: Crime Duty Solicitor

Duncan Lewis Solicitors is a leading law firm that provides high-quality legal services to individuals and businesses. We are seeking an experienced Crime Duty Solicitor to join our team.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and representation to clients in the Crime Department. This will include attending clients, taking instructions, and preparing cases for court. The role will also involve dealing with correspondence, maintaining accurate time costing procedures, and implementing recommendations made by the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend clients and take instructions
  • Prepare cases for court
  • Deal with correspondence
  • Maintain accurate time costing procedures
  • Implement recommendations made by the supervisor
  • Represent clients in the Magistrates Court and Crown Court
  • Deal with a full range of Criminal Defence cases, including bail applications, serious fraud, white collar crime, murder, drug crime, and theft
Requirements:
  • Duty and Police Station Accredited
  • Higher rights of advocacy qualification an advantage
  • Valid Practising Certificate
  • Committed team player with excellent client care skills
  • Ability to deal with client matters in a sensitive manner
  • Excellent networking and communication skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and sound judgment
