About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Oncologist to join our team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As an Associate Professor, you will provide clinical leadership to the Centre for Interdisciplinary Cancer Studies, enhancing cancer research activity across data sciences, biology, genomics, health sciences, and population health.

Main Responsibilities

As a Consultant Oncologist, you will work clinically in the MSEFT Oncology Department, specializing in Lung and Melanoma. You will also be responsible for teaching and supervising undergraduates, junior doctors, and other staff, as well as contributing to the development of cancer research and service improvement initiatives.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in oncology, a higher degree (MD or PhD), and experience in managing and leading teams. You should have a comprehensive knowledge of the specialty and be able to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems. Formal training in Data Science or experience in collaborative work in Data Science/AI/Machine learning is desirable.
