About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Oncologist to join our team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership to the Centre for Interdisciplinary Cancer Studies, enhancing cancer research activity across data sciences, biology, genomics, health sciences, and population health.

Main Responsibilities

The Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) will work clinically as a Consultant Oncologist specialising in Lung and Melanoma in the MSEFT Oncology Department. They will also contribute to the development of cancer research and education, working closely with the University of Essex and MSEFT.

Key Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register or eligible for entry within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of training (CCT)
  • Evidence of completion of specialist training or equivalent
  • A higher degree with a MD or PhD
  • MRCP/FRCR or equivalent
  • Inclusion on GMC Specialist Register for oncology or within 6 months of attainment at the time of interview
  • MD or PhD
  • Evidence of Management training

Desirable Qualifications

  • Formal training in Data Science or experience in collaborative work in Data Science/AI/Machine learning
