About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Housing Peer Support Worker to join our team at Turning Point. As a Housing Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with substance misuse issues to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside Turning Point Recovery workers to support service users in accessing person-centered support and navigating the treatment and housing system.
  • Act as an advocate, mentor, and coach to service users, supporting them to succeed in their chosen goals around treatment.
  • Provide practical support and guidance to service users to sustain their accommodation/tenancies and support their recovery.
  • Link service users with specialist housing support and advice, as well as facilitating access to mutual aid and accompanying service users to mutual aid meetings where appropriate.
Requirements
  • Understanding of substance and alcohol misuse and the challenges and opportunities for individuals on a recovery journey.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work dynamically on a one-to-one and group basis.
  • Knowledge of relapse and other barriers to recovery.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
