About the Role

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Configuration Manager to join our team at Siemens Energy. As a key member of our Bid Management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective configuration and pricing strategies to drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of new and existing bid management tools and processes
  • Coordinate interfaces between configuration tools and bid management tools
  • Monitor development tasks and ensure timely completion
  • Generate and issue user training materials for tools
  • Administer and manage access to tools
  • Assist in the development of analytics for sales opportunities and quotations
  • Create and maintain product models within configuration tools
  • Advise and recommend changes to the business, primarily in project management, design, and applications engineering
  • Maintain product baselines and provide baseline cost reports
  • Develop product cost analysis tools
  • Produce and present requirements for solutions to management for updating and approval
  • Conduct business affairs with the highest standards of ethics and integrity

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or equivalent, with Chartered status or working towards it
  • Experience with configuring tools such as SAP, PLM, Salesforce, Dashboards, and Snowflake, with a focus on improving tool usage
  • Ability to program with VBA and SQL
  • Process improvement experience is beneficial
  • First-hand experience of managing complex transformation projects
  • Experience of translating business requirements into functional specifications
  • Ability to step in and lead project teams in case of absence or workload problems
  • Fluent English skills in speaking and writing
  • Experience or education related to design/specification/operation of rotating machinery is an advantage
  • Positive, robust, tolerant, and cooperative personality
  • Strong team player with good communication, problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking skills
  • Availability and willingness to start a permanent job in the UK
  • Knowledge of an additional language such as French, Spanish, Russian, and/or German could be an advantage
