Head of Central PMO - A Strategic Leadership Opportunity

TRIA is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to head up its Central Portfolio Management Office (PMO). As the Head of Central PMO, you will play a critical role in driving the organization's project management strategy and ensuring the successful delivery of strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Planning:
    • Develop and maintain the overall PMO strategy in line with TRIA's goals and objectives
    • Establish the PMO as a 'centre of excellence' for project and programme management
    • Define project management methodologies, standards, and best practices
    • Oversee project portfolio management to ensure alignment with business objectives and resource optimization
    • Monitor project performance, risks, and issues, and ensure corrective actions are taken
    • Develop and implement project governance processes and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards
  • PMO Operational Management:
    • Accountable for the coordination and standardization of project document templates, standards, and processes
    • Spearhead the creation and maintenance of PMO Charters and Service Catalogues
    • Define and implement Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics to quickly identify issues and performance
    • Lead the development and implementation of automated systems for project status reporting
    • Lead the P3M3 assessment activities and manage the creation and actioning of plans to increase maturity
    • Manage quality assurance across all relevant departments
  • Portfolio Management & Governance:
    • Lead the management of projects using the current project governance framework
    • Lead the execution of PMO governance across all departments
    • Oversee the management and execution of preparation activities for decision-making Boards
    • Promote, publish, and provide training on the governance framework
    • Coordinate and maintain the Portfolio Process framework to ensure transparency and governance

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience performing a Head of PMO role or similar, delivering a portfolio of projects and programmes
  • Able to demonstrate success in building and creating a new PMO function
  • Proven understanding of project governance, risk, and planning
  • Attention to detail ensuring reports and data are accurate and presented in a professional manner
  • Substantial experience of using Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
  • Ability to liaise with and develop meaningful working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ideal certification as a P30 Practitioner or similar
