Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible individual to join our Transmission business as a Trainee Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in the energy sector, working on a range of projects and contributing to the safe and reliable supply of electricity to our customers.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Work on site and in the field, gaining hands-on experience and developing your technical skills.
  • Study towards a HNC and Diploma in Higher Education in Energy Engineering, combining academic study with work-based experience.
  • Balance your time on placements within Transmission, working alongside experienced engineers and crafts people.
  • Develop your skills and knowledge in areas such as Low Voltage Switching and High Voltage Switching.
  • Contribute to the daily operation, repair and future design of the transmission network.
  • Manage jobs, including technical aspects, safety management and the supervision of crafts people.

**Requirements**

  • Flexible approach to work, with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • NC/NQ Engineering at SCQF level 6 or equivalent, or completion of a Foundation Apprenticeship in Engineering.
  • No prior experience in the energy sector is required, but a strong interest in engineering and a willingness to learn are essential.
