Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support the educational development and progress of students with special needs in SEN schools and local authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead small intervention groups for English and Mathematics, providing targeted support to students with special needs.
  • Cover planned absences within the school, ensuring continuity of learning for students.
  • Independently teach classes, when required, following the school's curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Manage and supervise other learning support staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist with lesson plans and classroom preparation, ensuring a conducive learning environment for students.
  • Provide extra assistance to students with special needs, including one-on-one support and guidance.
  • Record and report student progress to the teacher, using appropriate tools and methods.
  • Mark work and provide constructive feedback to students, encouraging their growth and development.
  • Motivate and encourage students to reach their full potential, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supervise students during school trips and activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Attend meetings and collaborate with other staff members to support student progress and development.
