Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Delivery Manager to join our Research and Statistics Team at the Gambling Commission. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of a diverse range of data-related projects and helping us use and share the insights they provide with colleagues.

About the Role:

As a Project Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the project management of a diverse portfolio of research and analytical projects. This will include identifying priority actions needed to deliver projects at pace, building strong working relationships with colleagues across the Commission, and coordinating the Commission's data governance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the project management of a diverse portfolio of research and analytical projects.
  • Identify priority actions needed to deliver projects at pace.
  • Build strong working relationships, communicate and coordinate with colleagues across the Commission to drive delivery, remove blockages, expedite actions, escalate issues, report progress and assure delivery is being achieved.
  • Play a key role in coordinating the Commission's data governance processes and clearly communicate with members of our internal Data Governance Council.
  • Proactively anticipate risks and manage their potential impact.
  • Report progress and escalate issues to the Head of Data Innovation Hub to ensure the overall project plans remain on schedule.
  • Coordinate delivery across the projects to ensure the right information is communicated to those who need it.
  • Provide clear messages on projects which are sometimes complex.

Requirements:

  • Direct experience of driving project delivery: monitoring performance and reporting progress.
  • Providing delivery assurance to stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing external agencies to deliver project work.
  • Ability to manage interactions with colleagues who are members of the Data Governance Council – to allow us to manage risks in relation to data governance and information management.
  • Ability to ensure programme risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies are being accurately recorded and tracked against the baseline plan.
  • Strong knowledge of programme and project management using recognised approaches and methodologies.
  • Experience supporting data development projects.
  • Project management qualifications (e.g. Prince 2, MSP, Agile).
