Senior Estimator Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our Construction team in Gloucester. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the generation of profitable tenders, maximising the order pipeline, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of tenders, proposing costs and estimate resources for projects
  • Lead and manage the estimating team, promoting best practice and ensuring the successful delivery of projects
  • Participate in the winning of contracts, minimising risk and maximising profit through estimating, negotiation, and value engineering
  • Assess, prepare, validate, and submit tenders, minimising subcontractor and material costs, and communicating with design, planning, commercial, and bid management functions
  • Estimate costs to meet or exceed customer requirements, including obtaining and negotiating quotes
  • Build and retain commercial relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors during the tender and project delivery process
Requirements:
  • Construction estimating experience, preferably with a Tier 1 contractor
  • Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards
  • Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills
  • Experience in working on Single and Two Stage Tendering
