Senior Estimator Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our Construction team in Gloucester. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the generation of profitable tenders, maximising the order pipeline, and driving revenue and operating profit within the business unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimate project costs, identify contractual, financial, technical, and operational risks, and find opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit.
  • Support the fulfilment of the pipeline of contracts safely, on time, and to the required quality while maximising gross profit and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the generation of tenders, proposing costs and estimate resources for projects.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate the estimating team on projects by promoting best practice.
  • Participate in the winning of contracts while minimising risk and maximising profit by estimating costs for tenders, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting value engineering.
  • Contribute to the process of assessing, preparing, validating, adjudication, and final submission of tenders.
Requirements:
  • Construction estimating experience of schemes ideally with a Tier 1 contractor.
  • Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.
  • Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills.
  • Experience in working on Single and Two Stage Tendering.
