About The Team:
Our Water Consulting team is composed of Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts who deliver Asset Management and Operational Strategy development to our clients in the Water Industry, aiding in business planning and execution.
This dynamic industry presents challenges and opportunities that necessitate innovation, commitment, and teamwork to meet our clients' requirements.
Alongside the framework with the water utility, we collaborate with several prominent water companies across the UK, maintaining a diverse portfolio of long-term agreements.
Our Water Consultancy division is engaged in prestigious AMP8 programs leading into AMP9 and beyond, ensuring a stable career trajectory for the next two decades while leaving a lasting impact.
About You:
Applicants should have prior experience in urban drainage projects, along with expertise in InfoWorks ICM and relevant GIS software.
The ideal candidate will exhibit strong teamwork abilities and the capacity to integrate seamlessly into a collaborative environment.
Additionally, they will have opportunities to develop their skills as a mentor and provide technical guidance to other modelling staff, demonstrating leadership in urban drainage scenarios while prioritizing exceptional client service.
- Oversee all health and safety, quality, and environmental aspects of projects.
- Develop and deliver wastewater catchment strategies and solutions (including hydraulic modelling and analysis, model use studies, optioneering, and cost-benefit analysis studies, adhering to timelines, budgets, and quality standards).
- Understand solution feasibility and engineering factors related to buildability.
- Continuously enhance tools, procedures, and processes to promote efficiency and innovation.
- Ensure quality of outputs and compliance with standards, specifications, and governance requirements.
- Manage and report on commercial performance, forecasting, and risk management.
- Prepare bids and proposals.
- Travel to client sites or other offices may be necessary.
- Lead a team to cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients.
- Provide line management for project team members, including day-to-day leadership, workload planning, technical direction, and support, while driving staff performance and career development.
Foster relationships and collaboration with other Tetra Tech disciplines.
About You:
- Degree qualified in a relevant technical field; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
- Chartered membership of relevant professional institutions (CIWEM, IOW, ICE, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and water industry regulations.
- Technical leadership in wastewater catchment planning, industry regulation, and legislation.
- Ability to manage (or assist project managers in managing) small to large projects/packages and programs of work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate and manage staff at all levels, including mentoring less experienced colleagues, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in InfoWorks ICM and ICM Exchange.
- Extensive knowledge in hydraulic modelling, catchment planning, and/or related wastewater infrastructure areas, ensuring compliance with client standards and specifications.
- Proficiency in MS 365 applications, with knowledge in advanced Excel, PowerBI, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with GIS Systems (MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Experience with FME, Optimatics, Python (or similar) is a plus.
- Preferably degree qualified in a relevant technical field; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
- Working towards chartership for Senior or Principal grades is preferred.
- Affiliation with a professional institution like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM, or nearing application for membership.
