Join Barracudas Activity Day Camps as a Group Leader

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with setting up and maintaining a safe and engaging base room area for children.
  • Ensure the well-being and safety of children in your care by following policies and procedures.
  • Deliver a variety of activities and sessions as outlined in the camp schedule.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to provide a fun and supportive environment.
  • Supervise children during breaks and meal times, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Plan and deliver activities that cater to the interests and abilities of the children in your group.
  • Encourage participation and engagement from all children.
  • Take responsibility for the general welfare and safeguarding of children in your care.
  • Ensure the safe use and storage of equipment.

Requirements:

  • Experience or qualifications working with children.
  • Aged 18 or over by the start date of your contract.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Provide satisfactory professional/academic references.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to adapt to challenging situations.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
  • Attend Virtual Assessment Event and complete Online Training annually.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the company fulfils all Health and Safety obligations.
  • Deliver activities that are suitable for children in your care.
  • Encourage children to participate in new activities.
  • Ensure children behave safely and respect their individual needs.
  • Follow camp systems and guidelines on good practice in child welfare.
  • Be a positive role model and promote a healthy lifestyle.
  • Report any concerns regarding Child Protection.
  • Make reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs.
