Group Leader

Barracudas Activity Day Camps is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Group Leader to join our team. As a Group Leader, you will be responsible for leading a group of children in a fun and safe environment, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with the setup and maintenance of a suitable base room area, ensuring it is inviting and safe for the children.
- Follow policies and procedures to ensure the children's safety and well-being.
- Deliver a variety of activities and sessions, following the prepared timetable.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to deliver a high-quality experience for the children.
- Ensure the needs of the children are met, providing active supervision and attention throughout the day.
- Plan and deliver activities that are age-appropriate and engaging for the children.
- Encourage maximum participation and engagement from the children.
- Take responsibility for the general welfare and safeguarding of the children.
- Ensure the safe use of equipment and materials provided for activities.
- Experience or qualifications working with children.
- Aged 18 or over by the start date of the contract.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Provide satisfactory professional or academic references.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to use initiative.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable challenges in a childcare setting.
- Enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or existing enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas.
- Complete Online Training annually.
- Attend Induction Training Day before the first working season.
- Ensure the company fulfils all Health and Safety obligations.
- Deliver activities that are appropriate for the children's age and abilities.
- Encourage children to participate in new activities and follow the activity programme.
- Ensure the children behave in a safe manner and respect their individual needs.
- Follow all camp systems, including registration and collection procedures, Health and Safety systems, and guidelines on good practice in child welfare.
- Be a positive role model, promoting a healthy lifestyle and good hygiene practices.
- Report any concerns regarding Child Protection to the Management Team or Designated Person.
- Make reasonable adjustments to accommodate children with additional needs or medical conditions.
